About Michael Jayston

Michael Jayston, born in Nottingham on 29 October 1935, is a well known English actor who has been a familiar face on film and TV screens for many decades.

He is a classically trained actor, studying at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama and was a member of The Royal Shakespeare Company and other rep companies for some time.

He had an extensive stage career and moved in films, particularly historical ones, and TV during the late 60s and early 70s and has become one of our most well known actors since then.

Michael Jayston is much sought after for voice-overs and audio books, and he has narrated many radio programmes.

A great fan of cricket, he was a keen cricketer playing at competitive level.

A great Supporter of Our Disappearing Planet, Michael is one of the most hard working and has been to Memorabilia shows with us on several occasions. We greatly value the time he can spend supporting the charity.
